I had intercourse for the first time in a while a few days ago. I noticed quite a bit of blood after on my bed and when I wiped. Went to the doctor today and had my vaginal area examined and he said I have a vein that burst. Can this really happen? Would he have told me if it was herpes? I m very concerned.
Its a very common problem...every post contact bleed shud be examined thoroughly... On per speculum examination i hv seen post coital vaginal tears asso.with torrential bleeding that has to be stitched....there may be jst small bleeding due to cervical erosion ...or cervicitis...or varicose veins that may be found at vulva..but every post coital bleeding case must be screened for cervical cancer by paps smear...if it was herpes there must be some history of painful lesions at genitalia of either partner...and the bleed frm its ulcer (if any)is not related to the contact.
