What Causes Vaginal Bleeding While On Meloxicam?

Hi. I have recently learned that my potassium level is high. 5.4 on one blood test, 6.3 on a second test. We are controlling it through diet. Recently, I was also diagnosed with frozen shoulder and was prescribed Meloxicam for anti-inflammation. I ve been on that steroid for 3 days. I have not had a period in 3 years, and today, started bleeding. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It sounds like you had previously gone through menopause, so any time there is postmenopausal bleeding, we would want to do a full evaluation to make sure you do not have uterine cancer. There could be many other causes of bleeding postmenopause, but uterine cancer can present this way, and that is why we would want to do an ultrasound to make sure you don't have that. I don't believe this bleeding would be related to your Meloxicam use or the high potassium.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
