What Causes Vaginal Burning Sensation After Intercourse?

Hi, I had intercourse with my partner and now I have a burning sensation and redness around the opening of my vagina. It feels sore and when I urinate it burns at the end. I wasn t particularly lubricated beforehand. Is it possible the it is friction burn or an infection? And how can I soothe it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
It could be friction injury or lower urinary tract infection/urethritis.
Vaginal examination and urine routine, microscopic tests after consulting the gynecologist will helpful in diagnosis.
Doctor will give following advises:
For friction injury:
Take hot sitz bathe with added vitamin
Apply moisturizer cream like VAGISIL after bathing &
Apply water based lubricant (K-Y gel) before intimation to prevet the problem
For urinary tract infection:
Tablet septran, tablet nitrozolium, tablet pyridium and syrup cital
Drink plenty of water and juice of cranberry, orange and pineapple
Do not delay in empty the bladder and always empty the bladder completely.
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene after urination and sex
Wear pure cotton loose undergarments
Eat healthy diet with antioxidant supplements to induce the immunity
