What Causes Vaginal Discharge Along With Itching And Burning Sensation?

It s a little embarrassing. For the last month or so I have had a significant amount of vaginal discharge associated with itching and sometimes burning. There is no foul smell, but there is definitely an off smell. I have tried every over the counter product out there practically to treat was I thought was a possible yeast infection with no relief. I am starting to get scared about it. I have never had anything wrong with me like that before.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. It is better to do a swab test to rule out yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis. In case of such infection you can take anti fungal agents like clotrimazole and antibiotic like metronidazole as vaginal suppository.
If it is negative for infections then it can be due to irritation from chemicals like soaps you use. So better to avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area. Instead you can use just warm water. Using intimate wash daily is also good.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
