What Causes Vaginal Discharge Of Blood Clot With White Tissue?

Hello, I m a 23 year old female. My monthly cycle started yesterday. I was just having a shower and passed a blood clot with white tough tissue in it. It was about 4cm long. Just wondering if this is normal because it has never happened before. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Appearance of clots is possible when the blood loss is very slow during menstruation. It might have appeared with a layer of endometrial lining as whitish tissue.
Right now, you really need to worry about this. What would cause concern would be if you passed such a thing again or more frequently, with associated symptoms.
If this should happen, it would be best to see Gynecologist and get examined about it.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
