General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

IUDs can cause pelvic inflammation or infection.Watery discharge with blood can be most likely a sign of that. In such case a physical examination by a gynecologist is necessary and IUD should be removed if needed. Antibiotic therapy will be required also.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
