What Causes Vaginal Itching And Painful Intercourse?

Hi! Well long story short I m scared that I have an STD. I had what I thought was a yeast infection (itchy with discharge) and so I used vagisil. when I applied the vagisil it burned but then felt fine after a couple minutes. The itching went away so I assumed it was just a mild infection and that I was in the clear. the next time I had sex it hurt a lot. the next day I started itching again and it was very painfully itchy. I used the vagisil ahain and after about a week was back to no itching. So yesterday I had sex and I m not itchy (thank god) but my vulva is very very sore all around. it is unlike any soreness I ve ever had, and it hurts really bad if I press down on it. Please help with what this could be. I won t be able to get in to my OBGYN for a few weeks to get tested and so I m not sure what to do. thanks.
