What Causes Vaginal Itching Despite Taking Probiotics For Bacterial Infection?
I have been dealing with a systemic fungal infection for the past year. T was finally diagnosed by my naturopath & I just finished my second month of Fluconazole. I ve also changed my diet drastically-no sugars not even fruit, no carbs just protein-meats eggs & nuts & veggies. I take daily probiotics & even a women s probiotic specifically for good vaginal bacteria. I still experience vaginal itching daily & also have recently developed an itchy, red, scaly area right below my coccyx in the crack . I m really frustrated & the itching is driving me crazy. I d like to get your input.

* As per my clinical experience, the severe infection with high level of itching vagina and coccyx area indicates possible drug resistant fungal infection or associated bacterial infection not diagnosed till now.
* My guidelines at present
- take extra care of vaginal and peri anal region hygiene
- wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears
- avoid prolong use of same tampons
- avoid tight jeans
- avoid sunbath at beaches
- avoid vaginal or anal sex if applicable.
- drink plenty of liquids
- control of blood sugar
- discuss the need of culture swab report of cervix and vagina, for further medicine guidelines
- Metronidazole and Clindamycin are best working medicine, in absence of other microbiological data.
