What Causes Vaginal Prolapse After A Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
I had gastric sleeve surgery in 2013. About almost a year later I noticed when I’d pee or made any force to poop or during orgasm something fleshy would kind of petrude from my vagina. I’d wipe and sort of push it back in with my finger and I’d do those pelvic excercises and it would retract for a while. It didn’t really bother me too much but now it kind of slips out a little more it feels like about the size of a thumb. It doesn’t hurt or anything and a nurse friend of mine said it maybe my bladder that could have shifted when I had my surgery when they inflated my stomach. Should I worry like I said there’s no pain or smell or infections so far.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
No you don't have to be much worried about it. You should continue doing Kegel exercises and pelvic floor muscles exercise which make them stronger and help to hold the vagina in position that may be grade 1 prolapse. If any symptomatology starts you should consult OB-GYN.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
