What Causes Vaginal Sensitivity Upon Withholding Urine?

Sometimes when I (a female) hold my urine (when I am not close to a restroom) I feel like I m having an orgasm. Although it feels pleasurable, it is embarrassing and happens in public sometimes. Why does this happen and what can I do to stop the sensation?? What effects can this have on my bladder as it only started a few years ago when I had gotten acute cystitis? A pleasurable sensation when holding my urine, that will not stop and increases the longer it takes for me to reach a restroom. Sometimes happens unexpectedly. My bladder hurts after an intense orgasmic feeling. While engaging in sexual intercourse, I experience the same sensation and sometimes need to stop in between to urinate.

Hello,

The orgasm is usually associated with abrupt increase in blood pressure, pulse rate, contractions of pelvic musculature and contraction of urethra in most of the women during sexual act in actual or fantasy or masturbation height. The issue in your case is due to previous cystitis, during which certain receptors get accommodation for the sensation of immediate bladder feeling even through some amount of urine due to bladder wall irritation.

Now when you are holding the urine for a period of time during the time period when you are away from washroom, even without sex feeling, those receptors send signals to the brain as of bladder distension and secondary spasm of pelvic musculature, contraction of the urethra as that happens in orgasm. It is best recommended to consult an expert urologist for a uroflowmetry or nerve conduction study of pelvic nerves for the precise diagnosis of the cause and treat accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
