What Causes Vaginal Spotting After A Hysterectomy?

I am 78 years old and had a hysterectomy in conjunction with a bladder sling about 18 months ago. I have recently been noticing intermittent spotting, reported it to the doctor who did the surgery, and she downplayed it saying it was like chapped lips, and you get dry and cracked. Well, no..........I use Premarin cream weekly. I do not have pain or bloating. What is your take on this?

Hi, I think it can be due some atrophic vaginitis. But it will be confirmed by pelvic examination only. You can use estradiol valerate cream like evalon vaginally , daily for 1st week, alternate day for 2nd week, twice weekly for 3rd week and then once a week till it finishes.
