General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is possible that the Coumadin is the reason for the bleeding, abnormal bleeding is a side effect of this type of medication.

It is best that you let your doctor know about the bleeding. The INR can be checked, if it is high , it may indicate that the Warfarin dose may need to be decreased.

If the Warfarin is not the problem, then you may need assessment by a gynaecologist. In many persons, the cause is not serious.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
