What Causes Vaginal Spotting After Tubal Ligation?
A little over a week ago I had some spotting and I thought that was strange because my period had ended a few days before, after spotting for a day or two I felt something come out of me that I now think was decidual cast. It was a few inches long and almost tear dropped shapes with dark blood and gray colored. The spotting stopped after that but my period came this Tuesday and it was about 10 days early. I am not on birth control because I had my tubes tied 15 years ago. I m really confused about what s happening with my body lately please help.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
vaginal spotting after 15 years of tubal ligation could be due to hormonal imbalance because of ovarian or thyroid problem or due to premenopausal changes.
Some conditions like uterine fibroid &malignant changes in genital tract need to be excluded by a detailed physical &vaginal check-up by a gynaecologist &needful investigations.
Please do not neglect the symptom &take care of your health by timely check-up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
