What Causes Vaginal Spotting And Abdominal Cramps?
Hi, I am Nethra 24 years old trying to get pregnant ,im under thyroid medication (Levoxyl 100MCG). My period cycle is irregular i had my last period on 12 th jan and feb 1st i had spotting and on 6th very light brown spot with cramps and on 7th only cramps. i took pregnancy test on feb 9 and 13th it was negative. Today is 16th feb still no periods . Its symptoms of thyroid or pregnancy ? im very concerned about it.
Thyroid problems are a very common cause of menstrual irregularities. However, it is always safe to exclude pregnancy first.
Chances are you might have done the pregnancy test a little early, and I would suggest you run a blood pregnancy test to give a definitive result. In the absence of pregnancy, the thyroid disease is the most likely explanation of the irregular periods.
With continuous and regular treatment of the thyroid disease, the menstrual period would normalize.
However, also note that such delays in periods may also be caused by stress, sudden weight gain or loss, and sudden change in eating pattern which should ruled out.
I hope I have answered your question.
Warm regards.
