Hello. I was recently pregnant and had and abortion on the 11th of July. The last time I had unprotected sex was August 4th and before that was July 23rd and 24th . I got my period on the 14th and it ended on the 16th. It wasn t heavy it was light. After a week I started feeling cramps I went to the doctor on the 27 and the pregnancy test was negative. On the 28th, the next day I noticed that I am spotting and the cramps are continuing. I m getting nervous and don t know what s wrong. I don t know if it s because of my procedure how my body is reacting. I m deciding if I need to go to the hospital or not. May you please help with some answers. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common after a normal periods. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. If bleeding persists you can consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
