Hello,
Thankyou for asking your question at health care magic.
I understand your concern
Spotting during the first trimester (12 weeks) of
pregnancy is common and can be due to several reasons like
-
Implantation bleeding
-Polyps/masses on the cervix or vagina (These are completely benign and cause no threat to the pregnancy)
-Increased blood flow to the cervix. Anything that irritates or cause pressure on the cervix like sexual intercourse,
sneezing or coughing can cause mild spotting.
-Subchorionic heamarrhage(bleeding that occur behind placenta)
-Threatened abortion(bleeding of unknowncause, with no problems for the baby )
-abortion(usually associated with more bleeding and pain)
Pelvic examination and
ultrasound is warranted to come to a definite diagnosis
primolut deopt and
pregnyl are completely safe during pregnancy and is usually given for high risk pregnancies during the first 12 weeks.
I recommend that you
- continue both the medications as prescribed by the doctor
-Take
folic acid tablets every day
-take
bed rest, avoid rigorous activities
-Follow a healthy diet rich in green leafy vegetables, protein like soy, chicken etc
-Avoid large fishes with high mercury content
-avoid carbonated caffeinated drinks
-Drink plenty of fluids
-Consult with your doctor immediately as he /she can determine the cause for the spotting and manage accordingly.
Hope I was able to help you
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
