I am 9w4d pregnant and have had cramping the whole time... I have also had lots of spotting... I ve had two ultrasounds that have confirmed a heart beat... However, today the spotting has become heavier and pink/red in colour and has a weird odour... I don t know if I need to go to the ER or not, as u am not bleeding enough to soak a pad?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you may need to seek medical attention soon.
You may need to visit your gynecologist because spotting, light bleeding and cramping may be signs of abortion.
You may need to be treated with progesterone like hormones.
Also the probability of infection still exists so you should do a vaginal smear to check it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
