Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Im on my 8th weeker now and im having a heavier spottings. Its kinda look like period with some blood clots too. Ive been having sptting since my 5-6th week but those are very minimal amount. Consulted to the emergency already and all they have given me is just hormone tablets aside from the theregular dose of vitB12 & Folic Acid. Im quite concern about my spottings/bleedings. What should i do?
Spotting and bleeding during pregnancy at 8th week is not normal. Your symptoms could be due to Hormonal changes, Infections, Subchorionic hemorrhage. Miscarriage (either threatened or imminent) is accompanied by other symptoms, such as cramping or abdominal pain. Ectopic pregnancy, Molar pregnancy, characterized by an abnormal growth on the placenta, and, usually, an abnormal fetus. I would suggest to consult gynecologist and undergo examination, USG scan and HCG test to confirm cause.
Progesterone will help to stop bleeding. Take strict bed rest. Other treatment will depend on specific cause.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
