What Causes Vaginal Spotting While On Trinessa Pills?

Hello I have been on Trinessa birth control pill since 2012. I have a new boyfriend and during our sex he goes up in me very deep and I can feel him hitting the cervic area to hard and the next day I just spot a little. The spotting last for a couple of days and go away. I don t have a std. I have already got checked. Do you think I should change birth control pills.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Small laceration or mucosal abrasions may cause spotting. So don't worry about it. But keep it in mind that birth control pills can also cause spotting, so please consult your specialist and get yourself examined and treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
