What Causes Vaginal Spotting While On Birth Control Pills?
Hi, I have been on low oestrel birth control pills for over a year and a half now. Recently, I ve noticed a large amount of clear discharge. I also noticed a small drop of bright red blood. I m currently on week two of my birth control pack. Could I be pregnant? Or could there be something wrong with my reproduction system?
Some women can have a normal clear discharge that does not mean that there is an infection or any other issue present.
In terms of the blood, there are a number of different reasons for blood to be seen. It would depend on the context, for example, soon after or before a period, after intimacy, in the middle of a cycle, associated infection, pain et cetera.
If you continue to see blood when your period is not due, you should be assessed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
