What Causes Vaginal Spotting With Painful Urination?
Hi there. Earlier tonight I was using the bathroom (urinating) when I coughed. When doing so, I felt a sharp pain in my vagina. Now I m spotting and it is extremely painful to pee. I am 39 years old, married and sexually active. Had no pain or problems before this.
Vaginal spotting with painful urination are suggestive of possible urinary tract infection or genital infection. You are spotting but we don't know if the blood comes from vagina or urethra. Also, the pain that you say it was vaginal it may be from urethra as they are very close to each other.
As you are explaining to me it is possible for you to a have a cystitis (bladder infection).
You must see your GP and to some urinary tests. An abdominal US may be useful to watch over urinary tract and uterus.
Keep proper hygiene and your partner must do the same. Infection is successfully treated. Usually, it is because of candida but an urine culture is needed to discover the exact cause. If it is due to bacteria (E. choli is most common) antibiotics are needed.
Hope this is helpful for you. Dr.Albana
