Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So, the last two days I ve been noticing spotting. Very light and small amounts of blood. Barly any at all. I ve never had sex, however I have been sexually active, but haven t been in at least 2 weeks. My period usually starts at the end of the month, but is sometimes irregular. Even though I haven t had sex, I m still paronoid. I also read online this could either be caused by pregnancy or stress. I m just curious if pregnancy could even be a possibility at all.
If you had undergone unprotected sexual intercourse then pregnancy can be the possibility. If your next period is delayed for 7 days then rule out pregnancy by urine hCG card test.
If needs to detect pregnancy early than blood hCG estimation can be done. Mild spotting sometimes can be related to ovulation or some form of organic lesion in the female genital tract. If bleeding continues then gynecologist consultation for pelvic examination and pelvic USG done.
Consult a gynecologist for examination and further work-up accordingly if needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
