What Causes Vaginal Spotting, abdominal Cramps And Tissue Like Discharge During Periods?
Hello.I ve recently had the depo birth control shot for the first time and I was late for my period and started spotting 2 weeks after the late period. . It was light at first and then I started cramping normally like I was in my period, but then I felt pressure like something was coming out and I passed 2 medium sized grey and pink tissue like things tge cramping Stopped soon after. I just wanted to know if it was normal.Ps im not pregnant I know this because im a virgin, I read that it might be a miscarage and I know for a fact its not!Thank you
Depo contains female hormone progesterone derivative. It is a hormonal contraceptive used for preventing pregnancy. Vaginal spotting or bleeding is common on starting the drug. Your body needs time to adjust to the new hormone levels. These symptoms are likely to reduce in the subsequent cycles and hence do not worry.
In case of excessive bleeding or bleeding with clots, I would suggest you to visit your gynaecologist.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
