What Causes Varicose Veins Under The Thighs While On A Folic Acid Supplement?
Hi, I have few questions as below: 1- Iam taking 5mg folic acid is it ok? 2- I had 3 days period which is not normal for me. is it normal? 3-I am having varicose under my thighs and knee. what is the reason? 4- I am trying for baby for last month but could not succeed.Just to let you know i had miscarriage last year. Can you please highlight the problem if any or give any suggestion.

I have read and understood your concerns
1. Folic acid dose of 5mg per day for an adult is ok.I wish to know why your Doctor placed you on this drug.Doses vary with indication.
2. Period for 3 days may not be a problem if you do not have other gynecological symptoms associated.Ocassional changes are possible with periods depending on conditions to which you are subjected .Three days are normal with some women.I wish to know the number of days you always have.
3. Varicose veins are enlarged veins that may be caused by aging(as veins weaken and become less elastic), pregnancy( Pregnancy increases the volume of blood in your body, but decreases the flow of blood from your legs to your pelvis), Obesity, Standing or sitting for long periods of time.You may see your Doctor for examination and to determine need for treatment.
4. One month is not enough to say you have a problem or difficulty conceiving. You may try for a couple months and if need be, you see you Doctor for counselling on pregnancy.
