What Causes Varied Results In The HPT And Urine Test?

Hello. I m very confused. I took a pregnancy test (4) which all said I m positive. Went to my ob/gyn and they did an ultra sound and urine test and both came back negative. My home tests keep coming back as positive and I have some symptoms of pregnancy. However my bloating has decreased and my weight is almost back to normal. Last period was 6 weeks ago. If I m not pregnant, what do you recommend? Thank you, Shannon

Hello dear
Understand your concern
I suggest to go for blood HCG to rule out the pregnnacy as it is more accurate than urine pregnancy test.
In absence of pregnancy,following are the cause of delayed period:
Excessive stress, hormonal imbalance, change in dietary habit, thyroid dysfunction, ovarian cyst.
I would suggest to under go reproductive and thyroid hormone analysis to rule out the above causes.
In absence of pregnancy, period is induced by progesterone tablet or medroxyprogesterone injection. Other cause require specific treatment.
