What Causes Vertigo After Tooth Extraction?

Hi. I had my back lower molar pulled 4 days ago. I ve been suffering with extreme pain since the shots wore off. I have developed a dry socket since the extraction. Yesterday, I started having horrible vertigo. I went to the ER and both of my ears have fluid in them. They gave me a stronger antibiotic. Today I m still having extreme vertigo and it has me worried. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well, vertigo in your case is not appearing to be due to tooth extraction and as it is seen that there is fluid in the ears, the vertigo can be probably due to inner ear infection..
You should consult an ENT Physician and get a thorough ear examination done..
Although antibiotics should be continued but along with they can advise you decongestant nasal sprays to reduce pressure in ears and along with it anti vertigo medication like betahistine can also be advised..
Along with it take appropriate rest and avoid driving or operating heavy machines to avoid accidents..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
