What Causes Vertigo And Rashes On The Body After Taking Pepto-Bismol?
Starting last Tuesday, I was extremely tired and went to bed nearly everynight around 8:30 a.m. On Thursday I had joint pain and had a hard time sleeping through the night because of that. On Friday, I had flu symptoms and took Pepto Bismal for it and it went away by Sunday. On Saturday and Sunday I did the very minimal amount of work around the house and was still very fatigued. I even took naps which I don t usually do. Back to work on Monday, I felt tired and achy still but on Tuesday I had some vertigo along with it. Today I work up with a rash all over my body. It isn t itchy and doesn t look like shingles as I have had that in the past. I didn t change my detergent or eat anything out of the norm. Any suggestions as to what this might be or should I contact my family doctor. I haven t missed work even though I am not sure I should be here today.

Pepto-Bismol may cause tinnitus (a sensation of ringing in your ears), can also lead to rash, severe stomach pains, diarrhea that lasts for more than 2 days and hearing loss. Pepto-Bismol can cause anxiety, rapid breathing, confusion, slurred speech, increased thirst, depression,vertigo and severe nausea or vomiting. It can cause a severe headache, muscle weakness, trembling, sweating, visual problems and involuntary body movements. Notify your family doctor immediately.
