Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have periods of vertigo when i look down or bend over especially on the right hand side. It was real bad a couple of days ago when I would turn over in bed. My blood pressure is a little high, it s usually pretty low like 110/60 but has been 128/83. I have been eating 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon for breakfast, salads for lunch, a lite dinner... Coffee 8oz for breakfast... for a few days I would eat sweet potato pancakes made with eggs and bananas and onions...
Vertigo can be due to different possible causes. It is most commonly related to an issue with the inner ear.
Inner ear causes include- (1) Meniere's disease- would be associated with hearing loss and tinnitus(abnormal noises in the ear like buzzing) (2) Vestibular neuronitis - this is the most common reason, vertigo would last for hours at a time (3) Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)- the vertigo is worse with certain head positions
It may be best to see your doctor for assessment. There are medications that may be able to help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
