I have shingles and its starting to get better,i developed vertigo and I have medicine for it ,can shingles virus cause this? I was given medicine for vertigo but the doctor never looked in my ears just said take this and when the shingles have in there course all will be fine is this true
Hi Dear user ! I have gone through your question and i understand your concern.
Yes Shingles can vertigo. The virus that cause shingles ( Varicel- Zoster Virus ) can affect your labyrinth ( part of the inner ear) or the vestibular nerve either both. These 2 are very important for the balance and when they get affected labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis. A can not see nothing if we examine you ears cause the problem is in the inner part of the ear, (we decide according to your symptoms and your meducal history) that's why your doctor did not see your ear. You will get better with the treatment and while Shingles dissapear .
Wish you good health. Thank you for using HCM . If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.
