I now have had vertigo for 5 days, with loss of hearing in one ear. I cannot stand or eat anything except jelly and fruit plus sips of water. In the last few months I have been diagnosed with a bad wisdom tooth which is due to be removed in hospital soon. Would the abcesses in the last few months ( cleared up with antibiotics) be the cause of my VERTIGO?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have vertigo with hearing loss. Well sometimes infection occurs due to reasons like meniere's disease , local or generalized alteration in blood pressure , inner ear infection. Need not to worry. You should not touch or prick ear with any sharp instrument. You should maintain cleanliness of area. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper diagnosis. Doctor will examine with otoscope , order CT scan, hearing loss tests and MRI. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory medications. Doctor may prescribe hearing aid. Doctor may also consider surgery if there is any defect .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
