HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Abnormal sensations are most commonly related to the nervous system. They are usually due to neuropathy (abnormal function of the nerves).
This can be temporary or permanent, unfortunately, this cannot be predicted.
There are different possible causes such as: (1)
vitamin b12 and
folate deficiency
(2)diabetes
(3)trauma to the nerves responsible for this area, in this case, the nerves would be coming from the mid back
(4)liver or kidney disease
(5)side effect of medication
(6)infection such as shingles
(7)exposure to toxins
(8)
thyroid disease
(9)very rarely cancer
If the sensation started only a few days ago, then you may not need immediate investigations if it is not severe or progressing.
If it is severe or seems to be worsening, then you should be assessed by your doctor.
Since it is neurological, an
ultrasound of the abdomen may not be needed but an x ray to take a look at the back to see if the nerves responsible for the abdomen are under any
stress.
Blood tests may also be needed as well.
I hope this helps
