Hi ive noticed over the past couple of days that my 7 year old sister now has a fairly visible vain one of her legs. This has just appeared recently as I've never seen it! It's fairly prominent but it's not raised- and she says it doesn't hurt at all. BUT IM THE ONE THAT'S WORRYING! Is this serious???
It shouldnt be anything serious. Is there any difference in the length of both the legs? If yes then please get it checked. Also check for whether there is any warmth over the area of the visible vein as Varicose veins are not common in childhood. You should get a Color Doppler of the veins of affected limb done and also an Ultrasound of the abdomen to rule out any compression on the veins in the abdomen. Let us know the reports. Take care.
