Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just got out of the tub & see that my veins on my chest are very visible through the skin. This has never happened before. I have uterine leiomyosarcoma & had a hysterectomy in May, I am 57 years old, my last chemo (Gemzar & Taxotere) was in August. However, my hair didn t fall out until Sept 20 & i am losing my eyebrows & lashes now. I also found out I have hyperthyroidism & a heart defect where one of my main veins returns oxygenated blood back to my heart. I have swollen lymph nodes in my chest at this time. I feel fine at this time, but the veins showing through is kind of freaky. Is this nothing or something?
Hi, Dear My suggestion would be for you to get immegiatly checked up by oncologist and you may need mammograpgy and chest x-ray done to rule out spread of hidden masses . As your lymph nodes also have to be evaluated by doctor. Else heart problem can cause veins engorgement if it does not work well and needs to be checked by cardiologist. regards, Dr.Maheshwari
