What Causes Visible Veins On The Thighs?

My son has pointed out the blue visible veins which he has on the outside of both thighs. He is 11 yrs old and he says the areas are slightly tender when I brush my hand over them. He does get pains in his legs which I assume are growing pains and he was given lower stretching exercises to do to help pain in the arch of his foot. He hasn t been doing these very often but I wondered if the visible veins are something I should be seeing a doctor about ? Could you please advise ?

hi
thanks for choosing healthcare magic
i understand your concern.
i would recommend you to have a check up with your doctor because sometimes it is the general veins that are prominent under skin but if they are bulging out under the skin then these can be varicose veins which is a condition in which veins start getting dilated due to pooling of blood in them as a result of poor mechanism of valves of veins in legs so you can get it diagnosed by physical examination only and for examination any doctor in your vicinity can help you diagnose varicose veins clinically.
I hope i answered your querry clearly and if you are satisfied with my advice dont forget to give five star feedback. I hope your son is healthy best wishes to him :)
