What Causes Vision Sensitivity To Light After Undergoing Lasik Eye Surgery?

I had lasik eye surgery 2 months ago and for 7 weeks was enjoying 20/20 vision. about a week and a half ago my eyes became very light sensitive so I saw my eye doctor. She prescribed an antibiotic eye drop which took away the light sensitivity but my vision has now regressed to 20/30 and 20/40.I am very concerned that I may be losing my vision. I have another appt at the eye doctor on wednesday but I am extremely worried. Any feedback as to what is happening?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Light sensitivity after laser surgery can stay for few days to months. Laser surgery is not expected to reduce vision. I suggest you to consult your ophthalmologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
