What Causes Vision To Turn Dark Frequently With History Of Esotropia?
My son, 8, is complaining of his vision going dark. He says it mostly happens when he is in his dark room with just the hall/night light on at night. He looks at the light, and feels that all at once his vision goes dark. It had happened during the day before for brief flashes...not often, maybe twice. He had esotropia and was operated on at age two to correct his alignment. He is far sighted and wears a +6 prescription in his left eye and a +4 prescription in his right. He sees double when his glasses are off. Do you think his brain is turning off the signal from his eyes when he is in the dark without his glasses on? Could this be indicative of an emergency like retinal detachment?
Dear your son should take vitamen A SUPLLEMENTS becoz your son can't see in the dark which is called night blindness .your son should check eye sight again and should take eye specialist opinion. Check the blood pressure and use the glasses properly. Hope your son will feel better by doing this. You can ask if you find any problem.thanks for asking.
