Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 4 year old granddaughter is really seeing snakes, spiders and bugs that are not there while awake. She will point to where they are but nothing is there. She can t eat because she says that they will not let her. When she does sleep it is only for a few hours then she wakes screaming saying that the snakes and spiders are getting her. I don t know what to do. This goes on every day and all day long.
These visual hallucinations maybe the result of mental health issues. There are many ways to deal with this issue including rituals by your temple priest, meditation, medicines by a psychiatrist, reassuring that these are just hallucinations and she can still continue to do her work and studies by her will-power. Make her aware of higher power or God that can help her overcome this. Also teach her not to harm others.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vaishalee Punj, General & Family Physician
