What Causes Visual Hallucinations While On Plaquenil And Tramadol?
I have a patient taking Hydroxychloroquine 200mg bid (for 1.5 yrs) Isoniazid 300mg qd (x7months), Tramadol 300mg max perday (just stopped 2 days ago), (switched to Tylenol 2 days ago) . She is complaining of visual hallucinations for 3 weeks and after stopping Tramadol ,she is still seeing them. Shes 73 yo female, approx 160lbs, falls asleep all the time. Dilated eye exam revealed mild ARMD, moderate cataracts and OCT scan showed no sign of plaquenil toxicity. Do you think there is a drug interaction with Plaquenil and Tramadol or just tramadol?
