General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The visualisation of flashes of lights while having hypertensive retinopathy is related to proliferation of abnormal blood vessels over the retina and obscuring the fine path of vision and making flashes of light due to abnormal conduction of pigment cells. After thorough clinical examination and evaluation via ultrasound evaluation, I do recommend:
@ laser therapy,
@ VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) inhibitors
or others as per the clinical need of intensity.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
