What Causes Voice Hoarseness, Cough And Body Pain Despite Taking Robitussin Syrup?
I woke up with a raspy voice, coughing. Later a started with chills, aches and skin sensitivity. My whole body hurt including my nails. Fingers feel swollen and I have a temperature of 99.7. I took Robitussian cough and decongestant. Felt worse after that. Any suggestions what I should do next?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of voice hoarseness, cough and body pain despite taking Robitussin syrup which are pointing towards upper respiratory tract infection , which can be caused by bacterial or viral infection. It could be due to laryngitis which leads to inflammation of vocal cards. Need not to worry. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid hot, sharp, spicy food. For now continue doing gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water. Avoid intake of outside food.I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like viral culture test , throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. You should go for get laryngoscopy as well. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial amoxicillin or anti viral acyclovir depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants .
