What Causes Vomiting, Abdominal Pain And Constipation With Some Diarrhea?

My granddaughter is having abdominal pain and up a little on her side, constipation and diarrhea, throwing up stomach acid. She has been given pain and nausea medicine. She started this a.m. but doesn t seem to be helping. Most of the time she throws up after eating. This has been going on for 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. What could this be?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have vomiting, abdominal pain and constipation with some diarrhea . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis , food poisoning , irritable bowel syndrome , lactose intolerance , giardiasis or intestinal Ileus . I would suggest you to consult gastroelterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound , endoscopy along with that take history . Doctor may prescribe laxative , ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine . For now eat light and non spicy , avoid food like sea food and nuts , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down .
