Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Donepezil HCL 10 mg tab sol is making me throw up. Taking in morning with breakfast and vitamins. Happened the first day I took the medicine and the second. Was sick for about 6 hours each day. Threw up about 7 times each day. I don t plan on taking it tomorrow. I am not alergic to anything. I do not have any other health conditions that would be interacting with this medicine.
Hi Donepezil can cause nausea and vomiting as one of it's common side effects. I would suggest my patients to begin donepezil at low doses to avoid this effect. Beginning at 5 mg may be helpful in your case. I would suggest you to consult your doctor before deciding on stopping the drug. As discussed cutting down the dose is an option or medications can be given to prevent vomiting or alternative drugs can be considered. I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a nice day.
