What Causes Vomiting And Constipation In An Infant After Eating Pumpkin?
Hi my 6 month old daughter has been eating apples, sweet potatoes, and rice cereal for the past week. I introduced her to pumpkin 2 days ago. She threw up 4 times yesterday after eating the pumpkin for the second time. I think she threw up from that or she ate too much. She doesn t have a fever and seems herself today. Other than her stool has been firm the last 2 days and is dark on the outside with tints if grey( weird texture) but brown and soft on the inside. She seems to be constipated and is very fussy when she pushes. Is this normal?
Constipation is normal for the recent diet changes she had. You should introduce the new food to her slowly and one at a time in order to give her time to get used to it and to its taste.
Make sure to give her small amounts in order not to vomit the excess amount. Also, remember to give her milk often.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
