What Causes Vomiting And Diarrhea Along With Dizzy Spells?

I bumped my head (front above hairline) HARD yesterday. We went cross country skiing for a couple of hours and I was fine. We came home, made a nice dinner, and relaxed until bedtime. This morning when I got out of bed, l lost my balance. Within a few minutes I had diarrhea, vomiting and extreme dizziness. I could not stand up. Now I am up and walking slowly, and the diarrhea and vomiting have subsided. I am still dizzy, but much less. Will this likely clear up on its own? YYYY@YYYY

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea along with dizzy spells which seems to be due to disturbance of electrolytic balance of body. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food intolerance , food allergy , bacterial or viral infection , parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like antiemetic drug , ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide. You should not lay down immediately after having food. Drink plenty warm water through out the day . You should take small quantity of food and avoid large intake at a single time. You should eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana. Take oral rehydrating solution as well.
