General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
The most common causes of vomiting and diarrhea are food poisoning and viral infections. Both of these should clear up after 2-3 days. If this is persisting for 4 days he needs to see a doctor for an exam and testing to find the cause. He may need antibiotics or other treatments.
