Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Vomiting And Muscle Aches While On Penicillin For Abscessed Tooth?
My stepson has vomiting every morning, which sometimes is foamy and other times is greenish like mucus. Has muscle aches all over body and general malaise. Feels very tired, usually and goes to bed by 8 in the evening. Is currently on penicillin for abcessed tooth. Has been unable to work for over a month.
* As per my clinical experience, the issue of vomiting and muscle ache while on penicillin may pause different possibilities as: - Side effect of penicillin (which satisfies the vomiting issue, but not extreme tiredness) - Underlying infective endocarditis affecting heart valves as the abscess of tooth is associated with infections of strep viridans - known to produce infective endocarditis.
* Kindly get proper reevaluation with your doctor for this instance and get further guidance accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.
Regards, Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
