What Causes Vomiting And Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

I have had 4-5 episodes over the last 5 weeks of vomitting and pain in top of stomach. Ultrasound came back with no abnormal a and now have hida test on Friday to check gallbladder. My question is if Haida comes back with something how quickly would I have to have surgery to remove gallbladder? I don t want surgery if I can avoid it and worried about this test and what it leads to next.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
If HIDA test is showing gall bladder uptake that means your vomiting and pain are due to gall bladder disease.
In that case, cholecystectomy (removal of gall bladder) is the only treatment option.
If HIDA scan is normal then possibility of acute gastritis is more likely.
So take pantoprazole tablet on empty stomach twice daily. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
