What Causes Vomiting And Sickness After Eating Food?
Hi, not long after eating, I felt sick and vomited. I think some food got lodged in my nasal passage during the process and I can feel it sliding down as I swallow, and back up as I cough. Is causing some discomfort and feel like it s around my Adams apple area now. What should I do?
Sometimes after you swallow food it may feel like it 'got stuck' or didn't go all the way down. This feeling usually goes away within 30 to 60 minutes if you drink liquids or eat a moist piece of bread. Try doing it. However, if you are having pain or discomfort breathing, visit ER immediately, it may get you choked. Get clinically examined.
If needed the food can be extracted and removed by endoscopic procedure. In the mean time, take carbonated beverage for relieve. Always chew food properly before swallowing. Take small bites. Do not talk while eating. Taking antacids and PPIs can also give relief.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
