Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has been having upper abdominal pain and vomiting on and off for a week now. Took her to the ER last night, they did some blood work and Xray and said everything looked ok. Today still having bad pain (about an 8) and vomiting without eating anything.
first you should know that it was good behaviour to do x ray and blood test to role out any intestinal obstruction or other severe problems......upper abdominal pain with vomiting may be indicative of gastritis that means inflammation of upper part of stomach or may be due to gastrooesophageal reflux disease.....gastritis occur due to spicy food or coca drinks and soda drinks also any hot drinks can cause this gastritis as any drink or food errosive to stomach will lead to that....also over feeding can lead to vomiting and upper abdominal pain...and there is important point to know that severe stress or emotional troubles can lead to these symptoms.....simply you need to monitor her feeding behaviour and avoid any stress or anxiety and there is some medications help improvement if symptoms persist like rantidine and domperidone.........wish your daughter happy healthy life
