What Causes Vomiting, Diarrhea And Urination Pain In Babies?

18 month old baby has on and off fever for 3 days with diarrhea, vomiting, and pain during urination. Doc's initial impression was acute gastroenteritis and UTI. She was given antibiotics, probiotics, zinc supplement, oral rehydration solution, and antipyretics (when needed.) Here are her routine scan results, Follow-up pending Stool and Urine Culture results. Our baby seems better now (Day 4), but still spikes a fever once the antibiotic (Cefixime) starts to wear off. I hope you could put my mind at ease with your feedback, prior to our scheduled follow-up.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi...if it is a diagnosed case of UTI with lab evidence then symptoms will subside within a week with medication. Ongoing infection and inflammation may cause the fever spikes. If they remain persistent then we may need to change the antibiotics based on culture report. Also you should encourage enough fluid intake and keep watch on urine and stool output.
